Energy balance is taking on enough ckal from your food to be able to support you on your day to day life. If you dont have an energy balance, if its too much then you gain weight if its too little then you dont have enough energy to physically perform. (function).

BMR is Basal metabolic rate. It is basically the amount of energy expended daily by people and animals at rest. The release, and using of energy is this state sufficient only for the functioning of vital organs for e.g. the heart, lungs, nervous system, kidneys, muscles etc.
